PPF | Nautilus 5810 — Fifty Years, Two Hands
PPF's 5810 anniversary lineup drops the seconds hand and date: the 5810/1G-001 on bracelet and the 5810G-001 on blue strap, with an advertised calibre 240 clone.

Apparently, turning fifty means you can stop counting seconds and forget what day it is. The Nautilus wears it well, and PPF has wasted no time copying the birthday outfit.
The release
PPF’s new 5810 lineup follows the anniversary design in two directions. The 5810/1G-001 comes on the bracelet with luminous baton markers. The 5810G-001 comes on a blue fabric-pattern strap with baguette-style markers. Same blue gradient dial, two slightly different spending personalities.
Both drop the seconds hand and the date window that the regular 5711 and 5811 carry. That leaves the horizontal dial embossing room to breathe, which is the whole point of the design. The seller photos show calipers reading about 8.3 mm thick on the bracelet version. That’s encouragingly slim, though it’s one photo of one watch.
Around back, PPF advertises an integrated calibre 240 clone, the micro-rotor movement that makes slim Nautilus cases possible. The listing claims 48 hours of reserve and a gold micro-rotor engraved “50 / 1976–2026,” which the photos do show. None of the performance claims have been checked by owners yet.
Why it matters
Removing two things from a dial is easy. Getting the movement and case proportions right is the hard part, and it’s exactly where Nautilus replicas have historically cut corners. A thick case gives the game away on a watch whose entire appeal is looking like it slipped off a yacht without effort.
PPF has been the default name for slim Nautilus references for years, so a 240-type clone in a two-hander is a logical move. It also gives rivals a clear target. Expect someone to claim they’ve done it thinner, and expect someone else to claim it more loudly.
The take
The bracelet version would be my pick. The uninterrupted dial texture looks its best without a date, and the bracelet keeps everything properly Nautilus. The blue strap is tempting if your watch box already has enough integrated bracelets.
I’d want independent thickness measurements and a closer look at the winding before getting carried away. But two hands, no date, and that blue dial? Very easy to get carried away.
