PPF | Overseas 4500V — Six Sides, Five Dials, No Passport Needed

PPF rolls out the full Overseas 4500V family: five dial colours, steel bracelet or rubber, and a claimed quick-release system. Looks sharp, still unverified.

Some releases arrive with a bang. This one arrives with a full catalog page. PPF’s Overseas 4500V isn’t launching in one colour: the whole family is out at once, and it’s a lot of dials to choose from.

The release

The lineup covers blue, black, white, brown and green dials on the steel bracelet or rubber, plus a gold-toned version in the poster for anyone who finds steel too modest. The factory says the quick-release system works on both the bracelet and the rubber straps, so you can swap without tools. On the genuine watch, that’s one of the best parts of owning it. Here it’s claimed, not tested.

Inside, early reports point to the balance sitting at seven o’clock as the tell for this version. Take that as a reported detail, not a spec sheet. Like everything here, it hasn’t been independently checked.

Why it matters

The Overseas is a good test of a habit PPF has honed over years of Nautilus and other integrated-bracelet work: pick a modern steel sports watch, nail the poster, and let the details do the arguing. The Overseas makes that harder, because its charm is all case work. The six-sided bezel, the mix of brushed and polished surfaces and the half-Maltese-cross bracelet links are the whole personality. Get those wrong and it’s just a nice blue watch.

The hands-on photos are encouraging. The sunburst dials catch the light the way they should, the bezel chamfers look crisp, and the bracelet links look properly shaped rather than vaguely cross-ish. That’s more than many integrated-bracelet replicas manage in their first batch.

The take

Things to check if one turns up: bezel edges under a loupe, how the bracelet tapers, whether the quick-release holds tight, and whether the date window sits straight. If those pass, PPF may have another steel icon to go with its Nautilus. The blue on bracelet is the obvious pick. The brown on rubber is the interesting one.
